The National Service Scheme NSS camp kicked off at LR College with a mission to instill a sense of social responsibility and community engagement among its volunteers. The inauguration ceremony, graced by Sanhol Panchayat President Kusum Thakur and Principal Dr. Nisha, commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the journey ahead towards enlightenment and service.
Principal Dr. Nisha took the opportunity to elucidate the essence of NSS camp to the gathered students, emphasizing its role in fostering the values of social service, hard work, cooperation, and progress. Neelaksh Sohta, a second-year trainee, provided an insightful overview of NSS’s rich history and the diverse array of activities conducted within the college premises.
Professor Suchita Thakur, serving as the camp in-charge, outlined the comprehensive agenda for the seven-day camp. Activities ranged from the cleaning of the stepwell in Jabali Kyar village to tidying up the college campus. Additionally, a series of training programs covering legal aspects, first aid, yoga education, computer literacy, communication skills, and community collaboration were organized to equip volunteers with essential life skills.
As part of the camp’s inaugural activities, trainees diligently watered the plants dotting the department, symbolizing their commitment to nurturing not only the environment but also their own personal growth. Moreover, a lineup of sports events including badminton, kho kho, volleyball, and kabaddi, along with cultural programs, promised to infuse the camp with energy and camaraderie.
