LR Engineering and Technology was established in 2008 and is unique in itself as it is the result of self-help movement . It is located in the suburb of Solan and is providing excellent services in the field of Engineering & Technology. The institute was earlier affiliated to H.P. University (HPU) and after the formation of HP Technical University, Hamirpur, in 2011, now it is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) and also recognized by AICTE New Delhi, since its formation in 2008. We provide the Under Graduate Engineering courses in the following fields

  • Computer Science Engineering (30 seats)
  • Civil Engineering (60 seats)
  • Electrical Engineering (30 seats)

Progressive learning is the approach we follow at our institute that focuses on the student’s ability to identify and tackle technological issues rather than simply learning facts and techniques.

The efforts are directed to address the expectations of each student by way of quality input and practical hands-on experience, a corporate learning experience. The institute has made

Engineering Labs

Civil Engineering Labs:-

  • Building Material Lab:- The comprehensive list of common construction materials encompasses Cement, Steel, Concrete, binding wires, aggregates, stones, bricks, tiles, damp-proof materials, paints, varnishes, etc. In addition, various eco-friendly construction materials are also used in building construction.
  • Surveying Lab:- Civil surveying is an engineering operation that involves assessing and recording details about an area of land. These observations can then be used to help plan construction projects. The main purpose of surveying in civil engineering is to determine the three-dimensional relationships between different locations.
  • Geology & Rocks Mechanics lab:- Rock mechanics is the study of the mechanical behavior of subsurface sedimentary strata and rocks that are formed. The basic principle is that rock simply responds to stress by changing in volume or form. The change in the rock volume or form due to the applied stress is called strain.

Electrial Engineering Lab Name:-

  • Basic Electrical Lab:- The basic Electrical and Electronics laboratory is utilized for performing experiments related to fundamentals of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Engineering subject common to all first year undergraduate students of the college. We are all surrounded by electrical and electronic devices.
  • Machine Lab:- An Electrical machines lab is a facility where students(UG) studying electrical engineering or related fields can gain hands-on experience with various electrical machines (AC/DC) and devices.
  • Switch Gear & Protection Lab:- Switchgear is an integral part of an electric power system. Switchgear includes fuses, switches, relays, isolators, circuit breaker, potential and current transformer, indicating device, lightning arresters, etc. that protects electrical hardware from faulty conditions.
  • Project Lab:- Project lab has been setup in the Department of Electrical and Engineering to promote research and development activities in the field.

Computer Science Engineering Lab Name:-

  • RDBMS Lab:- RDBMS is a DBMS in which data is stored in tables and the relationships among the data are also stored in tables. This stored data can be accessed or reassembled in many different ways without having to change the table forms. RDBMS program lets you create, update and manage a relational database. The databases which are used in lab are MySQL, MS-SQLSERVER and ORACLE.
  • Basic Programming Lab:- Introduces students to the theoretical and practical knowledge of programming using C ++,java ,advance java,HTML and PHP programming language as an implementation tools and software.

 

  • Operating System Lab:- This lab is used to study and implement the concepts of operating systems in detail. Along with the issues in operating systems such as resource management, Process scheduling and management, operating system design issues.

 

  • Hardware lab: We have a well-equipped hardware lab containing all the devices that are used to build the computer system. Students are given detailed knowledge about each device and its workings, along with troubleshooting.

  • Artificial Intelligence Lab: Artificial intelligence is a branch of science that deals with helping machines find solutions to complex problems in a more human-like fashion. This generally involves borrowing characteristics from human intelligence and applying them as algorithms in a computer-friendly way. A more or less flexible or efficient approach can be taken depending on the requirements established, which influence how artificial the intelligent behaviour appears. AI is generally associated with computer science, but it has many important links with other fields such as math, psychology, cognition, biology, and philosophy, among many others. Our ability to combine knowledge from all these fields will ultimately benefit our progress in the quest to create an intelligent artificial being. The concepts are clarified by writing programs using PROLOG.
  • Project Lab: In Project Labs, students have opportunities to develop and demonstrate 21st-century skills like digital literacy, complex problem solving, and teamwork. Apply knowledge from classes to real-world projects with impact. Build networks with faculty, community groups, non-profits, and businesses.
