The LR Institute of Education has been established under the LLR Educational Trust in the year 2007 to impart quality education in the field of B.Ed course after graduation. The institute is governed by the statutes/ ordinances applicable to the B.Ed course of the Himachal Pradesh University Shimla and recognised by National council for Teacher Education (NCTE) New Delhi. LR Institute of Education was also accredited with NAAC. The college aims at imparting learning and provides a learner centric approach rather then teacher –centric one. The college has well qualified, dedicated and committed staff to explore the true potential of students. LR Institute of Education has always taken lead to provide progressive and quality teacher education by equipping pupils from rural background with all the necessary virtues and traits. The college has always remained committed to fulfil its social responsibility of producing value driven students to meet the challenging demands of 21st century.

For preparing such future teachers, the college with the committed visionaries in LLR Educational Trust (parent body of the institute) and dedicated faculty members tries to achieve the following objectives:

Education is the human endeavour in which preceding generation attempts  develop the succeeding generation into more able people for better living to raise educational standards at each stage that is pre-school, school, college is equally valuable and is interlinked with the success or failure of others. The key figure at every stage of education is the teacher it is rightly said without good teachers the best of system is bound to fail, with good teachers even the defects of the system can largely be overcome. We at LR Institute of Education, take the challenge of preparing a new generation of teachers in the millennium in which they are going to serve for the next three to four decades. The teaching methodology and present day classroom management has to undergo drastic changes to copy up with cyber age. For education to reap the full benefits of information and communication technology in learning, it is essential that pre-service teachers have basic ICT skills and competencies. We at this institute will provide quality teachers education by using information and communication technologies because we believe not only to teach the students but also provide them with an environment for effective learning.

Admissions to the B. Ed. course are made through entrance examination conducted by H. P. University


L R Institute of Education was founded in 2007 and is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) approved by and affiliated to Himachal Pradesh University.

Number of seats

100 (2 units)


In theory and practical (separately), 75% of attendance is compulsory for all the students taking admission in various courses in the college otherwise they will be debarred from appearing in final examinations.

Note: – The students taking part in the national/state level sports/cultural competitions will not be marked as absent for their respective period of participation in above mentioned activities.
