Awareness campaign on World Environment Day

On World Environment Day, the National Service Scheme (NSS) Unit of LR B.Ed College organized a series of impactful activities aimed at promoting environmental awareness and sustainable practices. The event was marked by active participation from all teachers and trainees, who engaged in cleaning the existing plants in the department and planting new ones. Dr. Nisha, the Principal of the B.Ed. Department, addressed the students, emphasizing the critical importance of nature conservation.

Dr. Nisha highlighted the vital role forests play in our ecosystem and stressed the urgent need to protect them from fires and other threats. She urged everyone to plant more trees to enhance our green cover and mitigate environmental degradation. The trainees furthered this message by creating posters related to environmental protection, showcasing their creativity and commitment to the cause.

In a significant outreach effort, the trainees visited Jabali village to raise environmental awareness among the local residents. Led by Pradhan Kusum Thakur, they held a rally to educate villagers on forest fires and rising heat. The rally served as a powerful platform to communicate the pressing need for environmental conservation and sustainable practices.

The trainees also engaged with local shopkeepers in Jabali village, spreading awareness about proper garbage disposal, cleanliness, and the broader aspects of environmental protection. Their efforts underscored the importance of community involvement in addressing environmental issues and fostering a culture of sustainability.

In short, during the World Environment Day celebrations, all teachers and students of the B.Ed. department took a pledge to plant one sapling each during the upcoming Van Mahotsav. This pledge symbolizes their collective commitment to nurturing the environment and promoting a greener future.

Through these initiatives, the LR B.Ed College NSS Unit demonstrated a strong commitment to environmental stewardship, inspiring both the college community and local villagers to take proactive steps towards protecting and preserving our natural resources.
