The students of L.R. Institute of Legal Studies, Solan, had a special opportunity to visit the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly, where they got an in-depth understanding of the functioning of the state legislature. During this educational tour, students witnessed the Legislative Assembly session live, further developing their understanding of legislative processes and governance.
During the visit, the students met the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh, Shri Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu. While interacting with the students, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of legal education and inspired them to actively participate in the democratic process.
The students also got a chance to meet former Chief Minister and present Leader of Opposition Shri Jairam Thakur. Shri Thakur shared his public service experiences and highlighted the important role of law students in shaping the future of the state and the country.
Another highlight of the visit was the conversation with Shri Vinod Kumar, MLA of Nachan assembly constituency of Mandi district. Shri Kumar informed the students about the challenges and responsibilities that come with being a legislator, especially in a diverse and dynamic state like Himachal Pradesh.
The visit to the Vidhan Sabha proved to be an eye-opening experience for the students, giving them a deeper understanding of the functioning of the state governance. Additionally, the visit also gave the students an opportunity to interact with prominent political leaders, thereby enhancing their knowledge of the practical aspects of law and governance.
The faculty members accompanying the tour expressed their gratitude to the Government of Himachal Pradesh for arranging this educational tour. He believes that such experiences play an important role in bridging the gap between theory and practical application, inspiring students to pursue careers in the field of public service and law.
