LR Engineering and Technology was established in 2008 and is unique in itself as it is the result of self-help movement . It is located in the suburb of Solan and is providing excellent services in the field of Engineering & Technology. The institute was earlier affiliated to H.P. University (HPU) and after the formation of HP Technical University, Hamirpur, in 2011, now it is affiliated to Himachal Pradesh Technical University (HPTU) and also recognized by AICTE New Delhi, since its formation in 2008. Engineering Labs

The main objective of this lab is to clarify the concept of databases their implementation and maintenance of database. The databases which are used in lab are MySQL, MS-SQLSERVER and ORACLE.

Visual programming is the creation of a computer program by utilizing pictorial elements. Traditionally, a program is a sequence of text statements used to achieve a certain result or solve some Problem. Programming languages often have particular ways of representing the work to be done thus leading to complexity. Visual programming attempts to make the creation of programs simpler.

A data structure is an way of organizing data in a computer's memory or even disk storage. An example of several common data structures are arrays, linked lists, queues, stacks, binary trees, and hash tables. The implementation of the data structure is done either using C or C++.

Web technologies related to the interface between web servers and their clients. This information includes markup languages, programming interfaces and languages, and standards for document identification and display.

We have a well-equipped hardware lab containing all the devices which are used to build the computer system. Students are given a detailed knowledge about the each device and their working along with trouble shooting.

Artificial Intelligence is a branch of Science which deals with helping machines finds solutions to complex problems in a more human-like fashion. This generally involves borrowing characteristics from human intelligence, and applying them as algorithms in a computer friendly way. A more or less flexible or efficient approach can be taken depending on the requirements established, which influences how artificial the intelligent behavior appears. AI is generally associated with Computer Science, but it has many important links with other fields such as Math’s, Psychology, Cognition, Biology and Philosophy, among many others. Our ability to combine knowledge from all these fields will ultimately benefit our progress in the quest of creating an intelligent artificial being. The concepts are cleared by writing programs using PROLOG.

Data communications concerns itself with the transmission (sending and receiving) of information between two locations by means of electrical signals. The two types of electrical signals are analog and digital. Data communication is the name given to the communication where exchange of information takes place in the form of 0s and 1s over some kind of media such as wire or wireless. The subject-Data Communications deals with the technology, tools, products and equipment to make this happen. Practicals are performed using simulation packages like Packet Tracer. Also the live demonstrations are given to the students regarding installation of router, switches and Wi-Fi.

L.R.I.E.T. has a state of the art Automobile lab. We have a Maruti-800, a Tata Indica Diesel, a Maruti Omni (Rear wheel drive) and a Gypsy (4wheel drive) instead of study models. The purpose of this lab is to provide the students in-depth knowledge of the working of automobiles and there is no better way than working on an actual machine rather than a model.

In this lab students perform various tests to study the stresses produced in the materials due to external loads. They also study the properties and molecular structure of various materials. We have a Universal Testing Machine, Rockwell and Brinell Hardness testing machines, Impact testing machine, Torsion testing machine etc. on which students perform the experiments and learn about the materials and their stress analysis.

The internal combustion engine laboratory consists of various engine-dynamometer test stands. The facilities include multi-cylinder diesel engines, one multi-cylinder petrol engine and various models to study the working of internal combustion engines. The laboratory also has an emission analyzer that can measure low-level exhaust emissions.

This laboratory works in the field of application of the basic concepts of dynamic of machines parts and working principles of the mechanical elements. In this laboratory we teach the students how input motion can be converted into the desired output motion using linkages.

Refrigeration and Air Conditioning is one of the most important fields in the current scenario. Considering the global warming phenomenon, it has become even more important for creating suitable environment in buildings, preserving food items etc. In this laboratory students learn the various principles behind the refrigeration and air conditioning systems by performing experiments on Ice plant trainer, window A.C., Vapor compression refrigeration system, household refrigerators etc. to enhance their knowledge.

The objective of this laboratory is to provide the student a good environment to understand some very important concepts and applications of Heat Transfer. These concepts are necessary to understand how the typical Heat transfer processes takes place. These fundamentals will be used to link the phenomenological Heat transfer processes taking place in different engineering equipment such as boilers condensers etc.

This lab serves for practical course like Digital Signal Processing Lab, VHDL Lab, Electronics Design Lab, Data Structure Lab etc. This lab is equipped with 20 pentium4 machine with electronics professional & other software like MATLAB & its Tool Boxes, Active HDL, Xilinx, TINA and Turbo C etc. for simulation purpose. Internet facilities are also available.

This lab serves for practical course like MP Lab, DE Lab etc. This lab is equipped with CRO, Function generators & various kits for implementing and understanding Microprocessors and Digital circuits. All the experiments prescribed in & beyond the curriculum are performed.

This lab serves for practical course like, SDC Lab, AE, and IE Lab etc. This lab is equipped with CRO, Function generators & various kits for implementing and understanding electronics circuits. All the experiments prescribed in & beyond the curriculum are performed.

This lab serves for practical course like LIC Lab, ED Lab, AV Lab, Project Lab etc. This lab is equipped with CRO, Function generators & various consumable materials for implementing and designing electronics projects .All the experiments prescribed in & beyond the curriculum are performed. It has facilitates for implementing various B. Tech projects.

This lab serves for practical course of 1st year Students. This lab is equipped with Digital MultiMeter & Breadboard Trainer kit, CRO, Function generators & various consumable materials for implementing and designing electronics ckts .All the experiments prescribed in & beyond the curriculum are performed.

This lab serves for practical course like DE Lab and EMMI lab etc. This lab is equipped with digital IC’s, Breadboard Trainer kits, L.D.R kit, Photoelectric Pickup kit, Pressure Cell Kit, Strain Gauge kit & various kits for implementing and understanding Digital circuits. All the experiments prescribed in & beyond the curriculum are performed.

In the Concrete Lab located in L.R Institute, students practice the concrete design process from the design stage to the full fabrication and testing of samples. Students start by testing and analyzing the aggregates, then they design the required mix in accordance to specific standards. Upon determining the proper proportions of the mix, it is then prepared in the lab. Fabricated samples are cured in a humid control room, and at the end of the curing process, they are tested in order to determine the mechanical properties of the concrete mix.

Equipped with various instruments for structural analysis of different materials like steel beams, cantilevers, trusses etc.

Equipped with latest and automated testing machines for various kinds of flows and conducting extensive surveying.

This lab possesses the latest software and computers required for structural solutions and design in Civil Engineering. The laboratory is equipped with AUTOCAD, STAAD, PRO, Windows XP, Ms-Office, Visual Studio, Audio Visual aids to technical and non-technical problems using computers. The department undertakes a number of National Level Projects.

Tensile Test and Compression Tests are done on Universal Testing Machine.

In this lab students learn water & effluent testing: Consultancy services are also provided for

  3. pH value, acidic value and viscosity of solution

This lab deals with road construction materials. Various tests taught to the students are – Aggregate Test, Crushing Value, Abrasian Value, Imoact. Shape Test, Flakiness Index, Sieve Analysis, Sp. Gr. and Water Absorption, Stripping Test. Bituminous Test, Penetration Test, Ductility Test, Softening Point Test, Flash and Fire Point Test, Viscosity Test, Bitumen Extraction Test.
