  • PROGRAMME EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

Our Graduates would be skilful to fulfil Current Technological demands and would be successful in Professional careers.

    PROGRAMME OUTCOMES

Graduates of Computer Engineering Programme will have the ability
    • To understand, interpret the problem, design and perform the practical to meet the desired solution of the problem within the context of Computer Engineering.
    • To design a component, a system or process to meet the specific needs within the realistic constraints such as economics, environment, ethics, health, safety and manufacturability.
    • To perform investigations, design as well as conduct experiments, analyse and interpret the results to provide valid conclusions.
    • To function effectively either as a member or a leader in a multidisciplinary activities.
    • To communicate effectively to both the peers and the others and give as well receive clear instructions.
    • To apply engineering & management principles in their own / team projects in multidisciplinary environment.
    • To understand professional and ethical responsibility.
  • Learning process and methodology

    Industrial Training(2 months)

    • The students spend their entire semester (6th) in an industry of relevance for their 2 months industrial training.
    • The student is permitted to join the training only if it is approved by the department.
    • During the course of the training, faculty visits the industry to monitor the performance and conduct of the students working as trainees.
    • Students submit a report on the conduct of training and also give a seminar/presentation in the class.
    • Training awards are based on performance in training, feedback report of the faculty, training manager, training report, mid semester report, daily diary, viva voce conducted by external examiner besides the value addition in students to increase their professional competence.

    Project Work

    • All the final year students are required to undergo a major project in their final academic semester.
    • Both the project works are held under the supervision of senior faculty members.
    • The project may be sponsored or facilitated by the industry.

    Interaction with the Industry

We believe that engineering education is incomplete without the support and collaboration of the industry. For this purpose, the department has developed strong linkages with the industry and renowned academic institutions. The interfacing with the industry helps the students in the following areas:
    • Industrial visits- wherein the students get an opportunity to see the real application of engineering.
    • Expert lectures- The experts from various fields share their expertise and knowledge with the faculty and the students.
    • Workshops on specific technologies- The students get a hand on experience in these workshops
    • Conferences & Symposiums- The students get an opportunity to explore their research potential
    • Institutional & Industrial Training- Interfacing with the industry opens up multidimensional avenues for the students
    • Value added Trainings: In-house value added trainings in niche areas like C/C++, JAVA, and Networking etc. are offered to students for developing their competence in specific areas that also gives them a competitive edge over others.
    • Placements- The department supports and coordinates with the Centralized Training & Placement Cell of CT group for all placement related activities viz. interview preparation, inviting the companies for the placement drives and conduct of the same.

For all the aforesaid purposes, students are actively involved. The students have been identified as student coordinators who are working together in order to meet these objectives. Besides, these activities also inculcates managerial & leadership qualities in the students. The student coordinators are well guided and supported by two faculty members of the department who have been identified as industrial coordinators.

  • Facilities

Computer Engineering The course of Diploma in Computer Enginering. Lays strong emphasis on both computer hardware as well as software. The important subjects taught during the four years course include Network Technology. System Software. WEB Administration, Microprocessor and its Applications, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Communication Network, Multi Media & Application, Advance Micro Processor, Discrete Structures for Computer Science, data Base Systems. Assembling Language Programme, Computer Graphics, Data Structure using C Computer Peripheral devices and interfacing, E-Commerce etc. Besides imparting theoretical knowledge, a lot of stress is laid on hands-on training and overall development of the individual’s personality. The teaching programmes have been devised keeping in view close interaction with the industry. The competence of the department is reflected in growing demand for its fresh graduates. The number of recruiting companies has multiplied manifold in the last few years.

    Database Lab

The main objective of this lab is to clarify the concept of databases, their implementation and maintenance of database. The databases which are used in lab are MySQL, MS-SQLSERVER and ORACLE.

    Visual Programming Lab

Visual programming is the creation of a computer program by utilizing pictorial elements. Traditionally, a program is a sequence of text statements used to achieve a certain result or solve some Problem. Programming languages often have particular ways of representing the work to be done thus leading to complexity. Visual programming attempts to make the creation of programs simpler.

    Data Structure Lab

A data structure is an way of organizing data in a computer's memory or even disk storage. An example of several common data structures are arrays, linked lists, queues, stacks, binary trees, and hash tables. The implementation of the data structure is done either using C or C++.

    Web Technologies Lab

Web technologies related to the interface between web servers and their clients. This information includes markup languages, programming interfaces and languages, and standards for document identification and display.

    Hardware Lab

We have a well-equipped hardware lab containing all the devices which are used to build the computer system. Students are given a detailed knowledge about the each device and their working along with trouble shooting.

    CNDC Lab

Communication is defined as transfer of information, such as thoughts and messages between two entities. The invention of telegraph, radio, telephone, and television made possible instantaneous communication over long distances. Data communications concerns itself with the transmission (sending and receiving) of information between two locations by means of electrical signals. The two types of electrical signals are analog and digital. Data communication is the name given to the communication where exchange of information takes place in the form of 0s and 1s over some kind of media such as wire or wireless. The subject-Data Communications deals with the technology, tools, products and equipment to make this happen. Practicals are performed using simulation packages like Packet Tracer. Also the live demonstrations are given to the students regarding installation of router, switches and Wi-Fi.
