Electrical engineering is an exciting field that has been on the cutting edge of technology for more than a century. Electrical engineers design, develop, build and test electrical and electronic devices such as high definition television, embedded computer systems, solar power generators, microprocessor chips, electronic amplifiers, laser sources, robots and intelligent systems. Electrical engineering majors learn the physics of electricity and magnetism; mathematics of circuits and systems; and engineering tools of analysis and design. They are trained in the design and manufacture of economical and safe products that enhance the quality of life of human beings.

    The Department of Electrical Engineering, LR Institutes of Engineering & Technology is imparting high quality education to the budding engineers with the support of well qualified & experienced faculty. We are living in an age of information & Technology. Electronics is the foundation of Information and Computer Age. The giant strides that we have made in the areas of communications and computers are possible only because of the great successes that we have achieved in the field of Electronics. It is sometimes unbelievable, how many electronic gadgets we are carrying these days with us like Digital Wrist Watch, Calculator, Cell-Phone and Digital Diary etc. Electrical Engineering Department, understands the importance of preparing engineering students in this competitive world. To enhance students conceptual theoretical and practical understanding the EE Department focuses on the following objectives: To provide the students with a flexible platform in the laboratories that scales from software to hardware. To provide students with a completely interactive environment. Guidance and counseling of the students right from the beginning. Offering soft skills training to the students with an aim to improve their personality in all aspects. Conducting regular Seminars, Works-shops and Lectures by evident experts from various renowned institutes

    PROGRAMME OUTCOMES

    Graduates of Electrical Engineering Programme will have the ability
    • To understand, interpret the problem, design and perform the practical to meet the desired solution of the problem within the context of Electrical Engineering.
    • To design a component, a system or process to meet the specific needs within the realistic constraints such as economics, environment, ethics, health, safety and manufacturability.
    • To perform investigations, design as well as conduct experiments, analyze and interpret the results to provide valid conclusions.
    • To function effectively either as a member or a leader in a multidisciplinary activities.
    • To communicate effectively to both the peers and the others and give as well receive clear instructions.
    • To apply engineering & management principles in their own / team projects in multidisciplinary environment.
    • To understand professional and ethical responsibility.
  • Learning process and methodology

    Industrial Training(2 months)

    • The students spend their entire semester (6th) in an industry of relevance for their 2 months industrial training.
    • The student is permitted to join the training only if it is approved by the department.
    • During the course of the training, faculty visits the industry to monitor the performance and conduct of the students working as trainees.
    • Students submit a report on the conduct of training and also give a seminar/presentation in the class.
    • Training awards are based on performance in training, feedback report of the faculty, training manager, training report, mid semester report, daily diary, viva voce conducted by external examiner besides the value addition in students to increase their professional competence.

    Project Work

    • All the final year students are required to undergo a major project in their final academic semester.
    • Both the project works are held under the supervision of senior faculty members.
    • The project may be sponsored or facilitated by the industry.

    Interaction with the Industry

    We believe that engineering education is incomplete without the support and collaboration of the industry. For this purpose, the department has developed strong linkages with the industry and renowned academic institutions. The interfacing with the industry helps the students in the following areas:
    • Industrial visits- wherein the students get an opportunity to see the real application of engineering.
    • Expert lectures- The experts from various fields share their expertise and knowledge with the faculty and the students.
    • Workshops on specific technologies- The students get a hand on experience in these workshops
    • Conferences & Symposiums- The students get an opportunity to explore their research potential
    • Institutional & Industrial Training- Interfacing with the industry opens up multidimensional avenues for the students
    • Placements- The department supports and coordinates with the Centralized Training & Placement Cell of CT group for all placement related activities viz. interview preparation, inviting the companies for the placement drives and conduct of the same.

    For all the aforesaid purposes, students are actively involved. The students have been identified as student coordinators who are working together in order to meet these objectives. Besides, these activities also inculcates managerial & leadership qualities in the students. The student coordinators are well guided and supported by two faculty members of the department who have been identified as industrial coordinators.

  • Placements

    The department supports and coordinates with the Centralized Training & Placement Cell of LR group for all placement related activities viz. interview preparation, inviting the companies for the placement drives and conduct of the same.

    For all the aforesaid purposes, students are actively involved. The students have been identified as student coordinators who are working together in order to meet these objectives. Besides, these activities also inculcates managerial & leadership qualities in the students. The student coordinators are well guided and supported by two faculty members of the department who have been identified as industrial coordinators.

  • Facilities

    The Department endeavors to provide state of the art education and lays great emphasis in developing creative skills and all round development of the students. The department is regarded as one of the premiere departments of the institute. It is equipped with outstanding infrastructure and boasts of a unit of learned and dedicated faculty members and sincere staff who work with zeal and enthusiasm to provide a vibrant and optimum learning environment to the students and help them acquire the skills which are required to excel in today’s competitive environment. In order to ensure high standards of education for its students, the department has constantly upgraded itself by adding well-equipped and fully furnished laboratories to supplement the theory courses. The world today is thriving and growing on electronics.
